Stock Market Game Blog

This semester, you will be playing the Stock Market Game and managing a $100,000 investment portfolio with your partner. Each week, you will reflect on how your portfolio performed and provide your thoughts in a blog post that your teacher, classmates, and others will be able to read and respond to.

This will give you a chance to offer and ask for advice and/or warnings about certain investments, provide your reactions to market activity and news that has occurred over the week, and indicate your hopes and predictions regarding where the markets (and your specific investments in the SMG) are heading.

Total Cash: $9901.43
Total Equity: $99,009.73
Buying Power: $59,406.79
Ranking: 51 out of 65
NVO: $54.40/$54.47/+$56.63
DIS: $107.74/$107.02/+$36.22
MGM: $21.86/$21.93/+$9.36
Our portfolio still isn't doing the best but we feel like we can't do anything because we don't want to sell any while they are low so all we can do is wait. For the past few weeks NVO and HD have been doing pretty well but HD is down right now but I think it will go back up soon.
We would like to see our total equity go up and our ranking as well. Our ranking is slowly getting better, we were 54 or 55 out of 65 a week or two ago so we are slowly improving. Also our yearly target estimates are very high and we are hoping that we have enough time to get close to those estimates. The stocks that we have are very close to be positive but they just have not gone positive yet. We just need time to see if our investments work out.

  1. Perhaps you should consider selling your losing stocks before they lower any more. As soon as you gain some profit I advise you to sell. Look at the chart of stock prices to determine you decision.
