Stock Market Game Blog

This semester, you will be playing the Stock Market Game and managing a $100,000 investment portfolio with your partner. Each week, you will reflect on how your portfolio performed and provide your thoughts in a blog post that your teacher, classmates, and others will be able to read and respond to.

This will give you a chance to offer and ask for advice and/or warnings about certain investments, provide your reactions to market activity and news that has occurred over the week, and indicate your hopes and predictions regarding where the markets (and your specific investments in the SMG) are heading.

Right now our stocks our pretty low so we looked at what we are invested in and we have 8 companies doing okay that we want to keep and we plan on selling our other six companies and buying six different ones. I would like to see that these new buys make us a lot of money.

  1. i don't think you should sell your stocks that are doing good but you should wait to sell the others.

  2. I would keep the stocks if you are losing money on them. It wont be good because they will hurt your account by losing all the money that the new ones could make you. I would maybe sell 1 or 2 but not 6.

  3. I think it would be a smart move to hold off on selling the stocks that are doing well like you said and watch to see if they continue to increase. Your should hold on to the stock doing poorly and see if they rise or become positive before selling them. Hopefully there will be a continued rise in the DOW that will help you out.
